Beach Access

Here’s a helpful list of beach access points organized by area in Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beaches, especially useful for guests staying in off-ocean properties. This list offers access locations to the beach, parking options, and nearby amenities:


🌅 North Litchfield Beach

  • Access Points: 15 public walkways along Parker Drive.
  • Parking: Roadside parking allowed within 5 feet of pavement (all tires off road). No overnight parking.
  • Restrooms: None at access points.
  • Handicap Access: Ramp at Eutaw Lane and Walkway #47.
  • Golf Carts/Bikes: Allowed on roads (licensed drivers only, daylight hours). Bikes welcome.
  • Lifeguards: None.

🌊 Litchfield Beach

  • Access Points: 7 public walkways; Walkway 60 near Litchfield Inn is ADA-compliant.
  • Parking: Designated spaces at Litchfield Inn, and same rules as North Litchfield for roadside parking
  • Restrooms: None Available
  • Handicap Access: Walkway 60.
  • Golf Carts/Bikes: Same rules as North Litchfield.
  • Lifeguards: None.

🏡 Litchfield by the Sea

  • Access: Gated community with private boardwalks for guests/owners. 
  • Parking: Designated inside the community for guests and owners only.
  • Restrooms: Available at the oceanfront clubhouse (and community pool areas),
  • Handicap Access: Yes, via ramped accesses. ADA compliant ramp at the Clubhouse.
  • Golf Carts/Bikes: Allowed on roads, not on dunes or bike paths.
  • Lifeguards: None.

🌾 Inlet Point

  • Access: Private, gated—no public entry.
  • Parking: Inside community for guests and owners only.
  • Restrooms: None
  • Handicap Access: There are no ramped boardwalks to the beach.
  • Lifeguards: None.

🐚 Pawleys Island

  • Access Points: 9 public walkways; largest lot is at the south end of Springs Avenue.
  • Parking: 141 spaces total, including handicap spots.
  • Restrooms: Available at south end lot.
  • Handicap Access: South end lot has paved walkway and beach wheelchair (request at Town Hall).
  • Golf Carts/Bikes: Allowed on roads (licensed drivers only).
  • Lifeguards: None; life rings at some accesses.

  • Fill in holes and remove tents to protect sea turtles.
